DS Lites have been in the stockrooms of your local electronics stores for about 2 weeks. Targets, Wal-Marts, and other stores sold the devices before the not-so-strickly-imposed launch data of June 11.
Nintendo made a few calls and put a stop to those stores selling the DS Lites. The stores that sell the DS Lites early can get charged mega-fees for each DS Lite sold before the street date. So, the stores implemented their own systems to prevent the DS Lites from being sold before June 11.
Leave it up to the hungry DS Lite fans around the web to figure out how to break these systems. Continue reading...
Target simply removed the DS Lites from their shelves. They put them back in the stock room. So, if a consumer doesn’t see the DS Lites, no one will buy them right? Wrong!
How to get a DS Lite at Target:
Go to a Target store.
Go to a scanner station in the store.
Pick up the phone and press 1 to page an employee.
An employee will arrive within 60 seconds.
Tell the employee that you want to know if they have DPCI item number 207 01 0007 in stock.
They do. It’s in the back.
If you’ve found the right employee, they’ll go to stockroom and bring out a brand new DS Lite.
Wal-Mart’s cash registers are much smarter. Don’t even try this kind of trick with them. Wal-Mart locked out all their cash registers from selling DS Lites until June 11. Shut down!
SEARS is selling DS Lites through their website. You can get them shipped to you or you can pick them up in store. I recommend picking it up from the store.
Go to SEARS.com.
Order a DS Lite.
Choose the in-store pick up option,
Go to SEARS to get your DS Lite.
Circuit City is running a similar deal. Go through the same process to pickup your DS Lite at Circuit City.
With a little grunt work and some social engineering, you can have a DS Lite early.
Due to severe lack of gaming... I am thinking of shutting myself off... permanently... let's see how EA digs on that!
